Just about anyone can sail in Blokarts! Young children can ride as passengers on a ‘shadow’ (double-seater), until they’re ready to take control themselves. Much older people can compete with young adults, and various disabilities can be accommodated allowing fun or competition with able-bodied sailors.
Membership is open to individuals of all ages who agree to comply with the Club’s By-Laws and also with the IBRA’s rules for racing, with safety and good sportsmanship being the main priorities.
Families are particularly welcomed, with children encouraged to learn this exciting sport.
Memberships commencing between 1st Jan to 31st June will be discounted 50% compared with full year.
Central Queensland Blokart Club is a sporting body affiliated with Australian Blokart Association to promote the sport to newcomers and to further the spirit of friendly competition between blokarting enthusiasts around Australia and across the globe.
Sailing and equipment rules are determined by the IBRA (International Blokart Racing Association) to ensure fair competition globally at a moderate cost.
As with any activity that involves speed, there can be some element of risk... however, any risks can be very much avoided by following advice to sail the Blokarts safely.
CQBC has several experienced sailors who are always happy to share good advice with anyone wishing to learn, and we have protocols in place to protect participants and others.
